This is a Blended assignment which is Part In-Country Part E-Volunteer.
 
In-Country - VSA will organise and fund, flights, visas, insurance, accommodation, living allowance and utilities while on assignment. 

E-volunteers - receive a monthly honorarium to help cover the costs associated with undertaking the assignment.

Please note VSA Volunteers must be a NZ citizen or permanent resident.

Our Partner Organisation - CARE International, Timor-Leste

CARE International, Timor-Leste (CITL) works to end poverty and bring about lasting, sustainable development in Timor-Leste placing special focus on enhancing the roles of women and girls to assure their equality in society.
CITL works with communities in Timor-Leste to encourage demand for higher quality education, health care and other community services. Care International has been working in Timor-Leste for over 25 years.

The Assignment

This assignment is a partnership assignment between VSA and CARE International. 

In this assignment a VSA Volunteer will provide support to the Lafaek team that have an excellent track record in the development of social behaviour change materials for many years, however, they need business support to effectively commercialize the current and future products and services.

An important focus of the assignment will be to establish and further develop the Lafaek social enterprise as an effective and sustainable business to secure the long-term future of the project’s essential contributions to Timorese society.

In addition, the VSA volunteer will be expected to support and enhance
the skills and knowledge of the current team in business development and management.


The Volunteer

Are you someone who wants to make a difference, have a sense of adventure and like the challenge of being outside your comfort zone?  VSA Volunteers are technical experts who impart their skills and knowledge to the local community. You will need to be flexible, adaptable, resourceful, resilient with a passion for Aotearoa and the wider Pacific community.

We're looking for a volunteer with the following:

  •  A relevant qualification in Business Development/Marketing
  •  Experience in Business Development and proposal development within the NPO/NGO sector
  •  Experience in the international business development field
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with market analysis and research
  • Experience in providing on-the-job training and mentoring staff.
