Desktop Support

We have an exciting fixed-term opportunity for a part-time Desktop Support (10 hours per week) role working for a not-for-profit that works across multiple countries.

Te āhua o Te Tūrunga – The nature of the position
This role will support our IT Manager by assisting with general desktop support to meet our organisation’s day-to-day IT needs. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitoring the IT ticketing system and responding to customer requests via phone, email, messaging, or in person. Accurately record, update and document requests using the IT ticketing system.
  • Providing general Windows 10/11 and Office 365 environment desktop and remote support and assistance to staff
  • Providing Microsoft administration support in Active Directory and O365
  • Resolving staff login issues to company IS devices and applications; this may involve issues with passwords and multifactor authentication   
  • Installing and configuring apps and defaults on staff laptops as directed
  • Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, testing and resolving system problems and issues.
  • Perform basic technical troubleshooting to resolve hardware and software faults. Escalate all other faults to the IT Manager.
  • Provide Dynamics CRM and Sharepoint support and administration
  • Provide assistance in setting up Mobile phones and resolving issues
  • Assisting with the development of technical documentation and guides and providing technical guidance and training in application software and operational procedures to staff.
  • Supporting the IT Manager with the delivery of his IT projects. This may include taking minutes/notes from project meetings and workshops.

We are looking for an adaptable and resilient candidate who can work well independently as well as within a team. As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Ideally 1-2 years of relevant work experience, but we will consider a self-motivated IT student or graduate. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Good communication skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office / O365 and Windows 10/11.
  • Experience with Sharepoint and/or Dynamics is desirable.
  • Development skills are a bonus.

This is a part-time fixed-term position until Friday 21 June 2024, The part-time hours are 10 hours per week to be worked across Tuesdays and Thursdays, based in Wellington.  

The starting rate for this role is $31.70 per hour.
