Cyclone Pam Update Monday 9.30pm

Published on 16th March 2015

We have managed to contact our volunteers on Malekula and Tanna, and they are safe and well. All our volunteers and staff in Port Vila and Santo have already been confirmed safe (22 of 23 people total).

Communications to the island of Pentecost is still down. All volunteers were in secure accommodation with extra supplies before the cyclone hit and we were in constant communication with them. We are keeping their families up to date.

Our thoughts are with our volunteers and the people of Vanuatu.

Hi Linda, Yes, I'm please to say that Wendy is safe and well. We've got a lot of information coming in and are processing it, figuring out the best way that we can support our partners in Vanuatu, in both the short and longer term. We will publish our advice on this as soon as possible - please keep an eye on the news section of our website and on the Facebook page.

Hi - I have been working on a charity shipment of education supplies with Wendy Griffin. Please can you confirm she is safe - it looks like it??? Please also let me know if there is anything we can do from here. Vanuatu Education Aide

Please ensure this information is given to the media. I have been waiting anxiously for news of my friend on Tanna. So glad he is safe.
