Closing Date: 28 May 2012

Interview: June 22nd and 23rd (Applicants will be required for both days)

Pre-departure Briefing: September 26th to 29th

Expected in Field: October 2012

Position Term: 2 years

Support relevant staff at the Division of Planning and Policy to effectively manage and assess programmes and projects.

The New Ireland Provincial Government Division of Planning and Policy is focusing on decentralising the planning process to the local government and district level.  This will ensure that programmes/projects address the needs of the local communities and that project planning and implementation involves members of these communities.  However, there is currently a lack of capacity to effectively manage programmes/projects within these different levels of government.

The Division of Planning and Policy has requested a volunteer with extensive experience in programme/project planning, management and assessment.  The volunteer will support staff to ensure the Division has the capacity to plan, implement, manage, coordinate and monitor programmes and projects through to local level government.

This is a two year assignment based in Kavieng, and basic, furnished accommodation will be provided.
