Work with the staff of the Division of Communications and Media to further develop the Autonomous Bougainville Government (ABG) website and establish an intranet for its divisions.
This assignment is designed to follow on from a six month VSA Website Design project, which is tasked with assisting the establishment of the ABG website and training a webmaster. A resulting objective for the Network/Systems Adviser is to ensure the ABG has an operational website that is maintained and managed by a capable staff member. To this end, the volunteer will assist the webmaster in a full review of the website operation and identify and provide any further training needs for the webmaster.
With the website running properly, the Network/Systems adviser will address the wider issue of establishing an intranet for the ABG that facilitates the flow of information at all levels. With the webmaster, they will assist to identify, procure and install any additional equipment and software needed to set up the network. Additionally, the volunteer will mentor local technicians in intranet management, and conduct ongoing training to ensure all Division staff use the intranet confidently and safely.
This is a two year assignment and accommodation will be provided in Buka by VSA.
