Assist the Ministry of Labour, Commerce and Industries with the development of a Price Control Plan to support sustainable economic growth in Tonga.
The Ministry of Labour, Commerce and Industries (MLCI) strives to achieve a dynamic, sustainable, and competitive business environment to support economic growth in Tonga. This assignment focuses on working with the MLCI to enhance business development and market efficiency through the development of a Price Control Implementation Plan for Tonga.
The Industry Regulations Adviser will initially conduct a policy review of government regulated goods and services, with an emphasis on taxi regulations. This will involve reviewing existing price controls within the taxi industry and recommending measures to improve efficiency and business compliance. Alongside MLCI staff, the volunteer will then develop a Price Control Implementation Plan and conduct ongoing training to ensure its successful implementation. This assignment will contribute to MLCI’s long term plan of promoting business and stronger private sector development, as well as safeguarding the interests of consumers.
This assignment is a two year assignment and accommodation will be provided in Tongatapu.
