The Badge includes activities that give girls a chance to understand how people in other countries experience life. It’s also a chance to find out more about volunteering in developing countries.
For Pippins, Brownies and Guides, there are lots of different tasks to choose from, to help understand how life might be for people in other countries. These might be walking for 10 minutes carrying a bucket with some water in it on their head, or spending an hour in the evening with no electricity.
The Pin includes activities that give girls a chance to understand how people in other countries experience life. It’s also a chance to find out more about volunteering in developing countries.
Rangers complete tasks providing an experience of challenges faced as a volunteer. These might include finding the antedote for snake bites or washing your bed sheets by hand.
The next Project Friendship will take place in August 2013.
For the first time the VSA Interest Certificate is available for Rangers to complete.
In partners, imagine you are VSA volunteers packing to go overseas for two years. Use the 'To bring or not to bring' list as a guide to help you choose the 20 items you will take. Remember to pack lightly because you are only allowed to take 20kg of luggage on your flight!
