1732 - English Teacher Trainer, Solomon Islands

Assist the students at Beulah Provincial Secondary School to achieve effective results in senior English and ensure that they are being taught by confident, skilled and well-resourced teachers.

Beulah Provincial Secondary School (Beulah) is a co-ed boarding school with 428 students and approximately 34 staff. This is a self contained community of students, teachers, admin staff and their extended families. Beulah currently caters for form three to form six and offers the following courses - Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Industrial Arts, Agriculture and English. English is the only compulsory subject at form six. The school aims to offer form seven classes by 2011.

The volunteer will assist students at Beulah Provincial Secondary School in achieving effective results in senior English and ensuring they are being taught by confident, skilled and well resourced teachers. Beulah also requires assistance developing a well resourced and functional school library

This is a two-year assignment and basic, furnished accommodation will be provided at the school.

Please note all applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents (with the right of re-entry) who have lived in New Zealand preferably for a period of at least two years.
