Assist Viviran Coaching School adapt and enhance their Primary School Curriculum so that it prepares the local children to access higher primary and secondary education, and to strengthen the skill capacity of the teachers in teaching English Language.

Viviran is looking for a qualified teacher with experience teaching English to speakers of other languages and experience in curriculum development or revision.
The school opened in 2006, and currently has 120 pupils from the village and nearby areas attending classes. Viviran has six classrooms and caters for new entrants through to grade 4 (ages between 5 and 8). There are six full time teachers, including the head teacher, all of whom will work with the volunteer on a day to day basis.
Viviran Coaching School is in Viviran village and is 22kms from Kokopo town. It is set in a remote valley with beautiful vistas to the surrounding jungle-clad mountains. Viviran is a small village and has a strong sense of community. Participation of the community in activities such as building, maintenance and fundraising activities is strong and there is much interconnectedness with school and community life. Security and peace are paramount in the rural community.
This is a two-year assignment and basic furnished accommodation is provided by the partner organisation.
