Kokopo Business College (originally set up in the 1960's) closed and then re-opened several times due to the result of volcanic eruptions in East New Britain. The college is a Government-owned institution consisting of two academic departments and currently offers four full-time courses in business-related disciplines, with a range of short courses. The college staffers are also involved in collaborating with local businesses in order to provide placement and practical opportunities for its students.
Kokopo Business College is looking for an experienced finance and business professional. The volunteer will establish appropriate financial systems, as the institution expands, and work to ensure that business and finance-related teachers are competent and confident to teach in their subject area. This is a two-year assignment and basic furnished accommodation is provided by the College.
