SEL - 1709 - Carpenter/Joiner, Zambia

The carpentry production unit of the Chodort Training Centre, located near Choma town, provides working opportunities for trainees after they have been trained at the centre. The unit needs assistance from an experienced NZ carpenter/joiner.

The Centre provides training and work for young people who have been unable to complete their education, and for whom work is scarce. The Centre hopes to enable the young people to successfully run their own businesses or become highly skilled employees.

The Carpentry Centre has recently been established and would like some guidance and practical experience to strengthen its programmes.

Choma town is 300km from Lusaka and 200km from Livingstone, with good bus and internet services. This is a 2-year assignment and basic accommodation will be provided by the partner organisation.
