The Western Provincial Government is in the process of rebuilding and revitalising the Provincial Administration and the economy in the province. It wants to establish workable boundaries and separations of power between the administrative and political arms of the Provincial Government.
The volunteer will need to provide appropriate legal advice to the Provincial Secretary, members of the Provincial Assembly, officers of the Provincial Government and Western Province Development Authority (WPIC), and Police, on all aspects of their work, including matters relating to commercial, environmental, land, employment, administrative, public, and constitutional law. The provision of such assistance enhances the officers' and Ministers' knowledge and understanding of legal matters affecting the province. A small, furnished house in Gizo will be provided by the Provincial Government.
