Where does your donation go?

Currently, your donation to VSA’s work would be used towards the following, or similar assignments with priority funding needs:

"All developing nations have their challenges, but working in Melanesia is tough. The development needs are acute, infrastructure is weak, communications are ofter poor and recent history has been fraught. Programmes such as VSA's in which New Zealanders work face-to-face over long periods of time with local people, are an essential part of the mix of assistance required to improve the quality of life of families and communities throughout Melanesia."  Dr Peter Swain. Pacific Programme Manager, VSA.

VSA has more than half its volunteers working in the Pacific, and the majority of them are based in Melanesia. They work with partner organistations in just about every sector.  VSA has build up long-term relationships in these countries and most assignments follow on from others where capacity has been improved and new challenges are facing the orgainsations.  Link for more information.
