Resources for Young New Zealanders

An increasing number of young New Zealanders are looking to volunteer overseas. This trend has seen VSA – a leader in New Zealand's volunteering effort in developing countries – create a booklet for young people thinking about taking it up.

The booklet Volunteering Overseas: Your guide to volunteering in a developing country is a guide to understanding:


The project was completed with the support of Volunteering Overseas: More than an OE - a DVD featuring three VSA UniVols working in Vanuatu and Bougainville.  Gain Insights into how the volunteers put their skills to use, and hear their advice from 'in the field'. VSA recruits young people fro two current programmes. Otago University students studying development sutdies throught the Georgraphy Department can apply to the UniVol programme. Young peoople aged 18 - 28 can work in Africa through Students Partnerships Worlwide or Addventure VSA  (this links to YouTube) which offers two week responsible tourism opportunities.
